There are two different kinds of satellite television available in the UK; Free-to-Air (FTA) or subscription. FTA is a good alternative for households that have difficulty receiving a terrestrial signal. Another advantage is the availability of many more channels, both domestic and foreign. Talk to us about your requirements and we are only too happy to advice you on your options.

Most UK FTA systems are designed to receive Freesat from Astra or EuroBird satellites. It is a great alternative for terrestrial freeview and includes free High Definition (HD) channels from BBC and ITV. In addition, many foreign channels are also free and all you need is a mini-dish and a set-top-box - your Sky dish will do fine.

The most popular subscription satellite service in the UK is, of course, Sky. Portsmouth Aerials & Satellites are not Sky installers, but we are happy to help if your Sky dish has moved in a storm and you have lost your signal. There are also many other subscription satellite services available, for which we do offer installation services.

Whilst it is possible to receive Premier League match feeds aimed for continental Europe, Sky and ESPN own the broadcast rights in the UK. Portsmouth Aerials & Satellites does not sell foreign subscription cards, but should you have one from elsewhere, we can certainly install a suitable dish for you at your home.
